| My eight week old Yorkie having seizures My eight week old Yorkie puppy is having seizures. Vet took blood tests and kept him all day yesterday. His ald went up to 217 but down to 197 yesterday. 159 is normal. Vet said he's too little for liver shunt tests yet. Makes me so angry that the vet will only give Two disapans to help him. He said its because drug adsivts use it and he can't. WTH. What if mess are the only thing to stop them so he can grow big enough for hep?! Vet said to put him to sleep if his quality of life is worse without the meds. I fed him canned food this morning and he's sleeping again. At 4am he had a scary seizure. Vet said he had six yesterday. Maybe from stress of being picked at all day. Poor baby. I hate to give up. What would you all do?

| Have you contacted the breeder that you purchased him from? Do you have a health guarantee that this breeder will honor. Sad a 8 week old puppy has to suffer like this. What would I do if in your shoes? I have an excellent vet that I TRUST 1000% she will do all she can do to SAVE a life. I would follow what ever MY VET advised me. Maybe you should take this puppy to another vet or a 2nd opinion. Sending positive thoughts for this little baby.

| The puppy is out of my breeding and I'm doing everything to save him. This the first time in 50+ Yorkies that I've ever had a liver shunt puppy. The vet talked to me earlier and said he will be too little for the seizure meds until he is an adult. I have now contacted the University Of Tennessee Vet School and so did the vet on my behalf. At three months they can fix his liver shunt. This baby will become a part of our family now. Thanks for your great advice.

| Doesn't sound like they know what it is...but I am assuming they don't think this is hypoglycemia? I would think the vet could have easily diagnosed that. I do hope UT can help him.
