| Diabetes My little Chibi just got diagnosed with diabetes. I'm trying not to freak out but he's my angel baby. I can't help but feel this is my fault. I tied feeding him the best food possible, but we just moved (that's why I've been away for so long). He started getting sick right after we moved and I can't help but think it's my fault for moving. It couldn't have been a coincidence, he's been fine for so long! Now days after we move he is sick. He's at the hospital now and I'm racking my brain as to how this could have happened. Where did I go wrong?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'm sorry your baby is sick . I know how scary that can be. But rest assured...believe me, there is NO way this is your fault or caused by the move. It was starting to happen wayyyyy before the move, but you wouldn't have really seen signs at that time. We have other members here w/ dogs who have diabetes - and they do just *great*!

| I don't think you did anything wrong. . . .moving to a different location has nothing to do with diabetes. Don't beat yourself up! People get it and have no clue what the symptoms are. Your precious puppy can't tell you and as said before the symptoms can be subtle. The key now is focusing on what you need to do to take care of him. Best wishes.

| The timing just seemed so odd but I guess maybe it's just one of those things. It just sucks because he had been so healthy before this. His weight was good, I never put him on steroids and I just can't think of anything else that could have brought this on. His immune system has never been the best though, so who knows. I had to give him his first insulin shot this morning . I felt so bad I gave him a tiny treat after but he didn't cry. I know he will be ok, he's just so specail to me I hate to think of him being sick. We are supposed to go in for a glucose curve Friday so I guess we will see what that says. Thanks for your guts support, I've missed YT!

| Yup, diabetes is not caused by moving good mama, getting him in there and taken care of - I know you will do right by the little buddy.
