| Advice Needed - Puking So yesterday, Boomer and Thumper decided to get into the trashcan spill it over and eat everything in it. Previously in the week I thought one of them puked all over my couch (not sure which one) and Boomer had diarrhea. I thought is was from some treats I may have given them so I trashed them. Well they got to them again when they tipped over the trash can. Boomer's poop is getting better, though still soft. However, Thumper has not stopped puking this evening/morning. It started around 1 am and it is now 2:30 am as I type this. I can't count how many times he has puked. At first it was everything in his stomach. Now it is small amounts at a time. It smells like peanut butter (that was part of the original treats) and is watery and foamy (looks white) compared to the original puke that was full of food. I did not give them any dinner this evening fearing that they would get sick from eating out of the trashcan. Now I have taken away the water and left Thumper in the kitchen because I don't want to have to clean up anymore puke on my couch or bed. (I already need to get it professionally cleaned from the last time) I have noticed also that one of them is peeing more on the pee pad. Not sure which one, but feel it is Thumper. The pee is light in color. Is there anything I should be doing? Also, should I be taking them to the Vet or is this something that will pass. The Vet gets in tomorrow and I can probably make an appt. I hate seeing him like this.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Is he better now/yet...? Hope so. What worries me about the non-stop puking stuff is it makes me wonder if something truly toxic was ingested, and so his body is violently trying to get rid of it. Also, there were no meds or anything in the garbage were there? Nothing sharp?

| I ended up taking him to the ER last night because of all the puking. They did an X-ray and gave me some meds to give at home along with giving him some injections. He is no longer puking but his last two bowel movements have been diarrhea and bloody/dark and awful smell. I called the ER back earlier today after the first BM and was told that is normal and it should pass. As long as the vomiting stopped he is starting to recover. I gave him some water about an hour ago and he drank it. Tonight he is only get a small amount of pumpkin. Hopefully he is better in a few days. I am now just worried about the bloody in the stool. He has more energy this afternoon so that is good. Ugh no more garbage can in the kitchen when I am gone from home now. I learned my lesson.

| Poor Thumper! I'm glad you went to the ER. Praying he improves within the next 24 hours. When you reintroduce food, maybe a bland diet of chicken and rice? That always has helped Teddy when he had diarrhea. If the blood continues or if he shows any other signs of distress, check in with your regular vet. A copy of the ER report should be forwarded to your regular vet.

| Trashcan -- years ago, our Airedale got into our trash and ate tinfoil. We had to put the trashcan in the mud room outside of the kitchen. Hope you can find a way to secure it so that your little rascals can't do this again.
