| Seizures Returned / Vision worse Hi All, I have post from a whle back that my 13yr old was having facial seizures when eating and falling over.He was put on Keppra 0.7 ml. Today the seizures are back and worse and I feel like his vision deteriorated. It has been going with age but today seems worse. He walked into the couch several times in bright lighting, Do you think it could be related number one and number two is it common for medication to stop working as it was and need another or a higher dosage? Any input! Kathy Neurologist is out until Monday and I did email my regular vet for opinion..still waiting. |

| Has this dog had an MRI ? if not , how does the vet know what's causing the seizures ? IMHO any dog having seizures NEEDS an MRI as there are many causes of seizures & different treatments depending on the cause. Praying for this pup. AAI, Chiari malformation, liver shunt & the list goes on as to things that cause seizures. |

| He is 13.MRI 3200.00 so we did every other test.Internally he is great.Kidneys, liver all good. Neuro said with age it is common for neurological issues to start in some breeds.I almost feel like something occured overnight. He is still eating and peeing and pooping on schedule but balance is off and the facial seizing and falling over aeems worse than when it started. No head tilt or circling. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It's hard to say what's happening here, really. Could be that the med is too low, causing this...and it even could be that the med is too high, causing him to be unstable and shaky and unbalanced.

| This could be due to a brain lesion. It happened to my DIL's pup and she was put on prednisone. She was around the same age and they didn't do diagnostics...just tried the pred and it worked which pretty much told them that was the cause. Amazingly her vision returned almost immediately. Best wishes....
