My little Ruger has had all his puppy shots minus lepto & kennel, he's now an adult and goes this week for an adult booster distemper & parvo. I'm very nervous, but my Vet promises me he needs an adult booster. My Vet knows all about loosing my Titan to GME, and how I hate these vaccines. What to do? Do you have your adults booster

| Last year I boosted , but I moved to MD and when she was due for shots my new vet gave her shots but nothing with a combo. She's fine so that may be an option for you .

Sure, happy to help. I just asked my vet not to give combination vaccines and no lepto. At shot time, confirm that they aren't giving combo shots. I would also discuss if booster is an option for your puppy and highly suggest that is your preference because some vets will push the vaccines on you for profit.

| Sorry I haven't updated... Sissy made it past her 2 week mark (May 9th)..Every 2 weeks she was crashing and I had to rush her to the vet (3 times) The last time he switched her to dexamethsone from predasone, and so far so good. She has always been a low keyed girl, but she is a little sluggish towards the end of the day.. She is putting on a little weight, and I have to watch her eating ,she is over eating and her stomach gets bloated.. As for the boosters.. Other than her puppy shots, and the shots needed when she was spayed, she only gets the rabies shot every year. I feel blessed that we was given more time with her, and I pray I never have to make the decision to put her down. I still cry thinking of the day the vet asked me .. but.... I will do what is best for her when and if the time comes. |

| What symptoms did your dogs display with this? Because the vet thinks theres a slight possibility Dave has encephalitis or meningitis. |

Than slowly started wondering around aimlessly Walking up against walls and what we later realized was her vision was impaired... As it progressed (at least 2 days)she would not sleep and circle the house non stop. It it truly a sad thing to see We have learned to not wait around and get her straight to the vet at the first sign. She has went 3 weeks and no crashing and her new medicine, dexamethasone Becoming a little fatty though..lol | |

| Update:...Last week the vet reduced Sissy's dose from 2 pills a day to one and she is doing great... Less sluggish and more back to her old self ....We will probably go a few weeks and they want to try every other day..They want her on the lowest dosage,so less damage to her liver. |

Titan meds worked really fast. We were so happy & thankful it helped him be himself for almost two years. All the meds did take a toll on his little body. Still praying for Sissy.

My Remy is going through similar. I posted a little about it (sad news) and I will make a new thread because when we share info it helps others....like your post has helped me. I was told Remy had a brain tumor... it turns out she has encephalitis. She is doing well at this time... and I have hopes she will do well for a long time. Dr. Wong said 40% have full recover, another 40% do very well but have relapses ...we will see.
