Scared Mommy! Please Help! I was wondering if any of you have had this happen to your baby? I was sitting on the couch with her and she was chewing on a chew toy. All of a sudden she started to make this weird sound. It sounded like she was choking and her stomach was grumbling, kind of like when ours do when we have diarrhea. Just as suddenly as it started it stopped for a few seconds. It started up again and I picked her up in a panic and carried her outside thinking she was going to be sick. As soon as I picked her up she stopped making that noised and calmed down. I noticed something hanging from her mouth, it was a blade of grass. I remember that when I took her out to play this morning she seemed to be chewing on something and when I went to take it out of her mouth she swallowed it. Now I think it could have been grass. She seems to be fine now and is laying on the couch like she was before. Is this a normal reaction to eating grass or should I take her to the vet?

It was most likely the grass stuck in her throat causing her to gag. When you saw her chewing on something it was most likely grass, some dogs eat grass to help get rid of a tummy ache & some dogs are simply grazers.

Thank you! I do believe that is what it was, because she has been fine since then. It is just so hard with her because she seems to clean my floors better than my vacuum. I clean daily but she always seems to find the small piece of something that was left behind. I get scared that one day she will eat something that will make her very sick!
