| Very poorly. Need advice Asha is now 8 months old and has had her first heat which finished about a month ago. She was going to be spayed this week but vet decided it was too early and that she was probably enduring a phantom pregnancy. Ok, Monday this week I was bathing her and I found a tick on her cheek which I had removed by the vet. Tuesday was when I was told she couldn't be spayed. Because she had to be starved for surgery I bought her home Tuesday and fed her, she wouldn't eat it. By Tuesday night she hadn't eaten for 30 hours or drank for 18 hours. Wednesday she was vomiting and had diahorea. The vet said it was her phantom pregnancy. Thursday she ate a small portion and drank a bowl full of water. She ate another small portion before bed. Today, she hasn't eaten or drank anything and is still vomiting - white bile this morning which is now bright yellow. I just don't know what to do for her. She is very lethargic and looks quite poorly. She is losing weight and I am really worried for her. She's clingy and will not leave my side. She's walking quite gingerly as if she's old if you know what I mean. I don't want to keep taking her the vets just for them to tell me I'm worried over nothing. This is my baby and if anything happens to her I will sue the vets that simply don't seem to care! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Maybe get a 2nd opinion? Also, I'd be doing bloodwork - has that been done?

| What have you been feeding her prior to her getting sick? It is possible she has pancreatitis or some other serious problem like parvo. I would take her to the vet and have her checked out. She might need to be on antibiotics. Please keep us updated on how she is doing.

| If you feel that your vet is disregarding your concern then I would definately get a second opinion! It may be just as he said.....but it could be something more. Our little yorkies are much smaller and have much less reserve for days of vomiting and not eating or drinking!

| How is Asha doing now? Please update us on what is going on with her. Is she eating and drinking yet or has she stopped vomiting? Could it have anything to do with the tick you had the vet remove from her cheek causing all of this? I wish her well and you too.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Second opinion I totally understand how you feel, it is so hard when they are sick, If you do not feel comfortable with what the Vet is telling you, I would definately get a second opinion. I once was not satisfied with my Vets care and concern of my Didi, and I took her to another Vet, which I felt they showed more compassion and was able to give me alot of advise, and was very attentive to Didi's needs. You need to feel confident in the care they are getting, because they can't speak for themselves. |

| We would really like to hear how Asha is doing now. Hoping all is well and another, more caring, vet has been found.

| ASAP! I would be finding a new vet. Your baby could die since she is that sick. Hope you get her help soon. Susan |
