| Ring worm is not a worm, it a fungus and highly contagious to humans, can you get your pup to the vet tomorrow, you need to get to vet ASAP as this spreads. Your vet will determine what treatment is needed after your baby is examined.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think it's prob either ringworm (which is a fungus, not a worm at all) or pyoderma (staph intermedius overgrowth/infection). Needs a skin scraping and/or a culture (culture if ringworm suspected).

| I started thinking yesterday, she actually had something similar and very much smaller long time ago in the same area. I remember putting some ointment and it vanished in about 3 days. I though it was nothing big because it was so small. NOW I did some research and it says it may go away for a few months and come back , that she will have to be in strict care for at least 6 months in order to be safe to say its cured. Being that it was not properly cured before, it makes sense why it came back. BUT this is way bigger then before , I put on her cone so she wont harm it scratching and we will be going to the vet tomorrow. Thanks so much, I will keep you guys updated.

| Thank you for up dating. I read the same thing about the 6 month care. You will find much relief after the vet visit.

| Did you have a black light put on it ????? If it glows green in a circle, it might be a form of ringworm ? |

| sorry yorkie mommys for the late response , id like to say thanks so much for the support and suggestions ! im so happy to say that it has actually cleared up. It turned out to be exactly what you guys said it would. i was really concerned because she was losing her hair in knots. the vet gave me a cream and suggested i purchase an antifungal shampoo and bathe her with it for some continous time. Amazing is that only 3 days in and the circle turned into a hard scab and came right off leaving her skin clear. Im just hoping her hair grows in soon .. thanks so much againn

| Thank you for the up-date. Happy to know baby is on the mend. Follow your vets instructions to the T. Don't worry, the hair will grow back, it will just be shorter in the spots where she lost it which is a easy fix with a hair cut. They can give is such a scare.
