| vomiting stopped Early this morning before 6am my dh brought Buddybear to me saying he was sick. He had vomited about 6 times in his 'room'. After I cleaned it up he drank a lot of water then vomited that up. I tried to give him small bites of toast but he didn't want any. He just layed around while I tried to do some research on his symptoms. I took him to the park where he gobbled up grass and had a regular bowl movement. He's hardly drunk any water but I have gotten several small amounts of clear pedalight in through a syringe. Now he is just walking with his tail down and ears about half mast. A few times today he has perked up to bark at a intruder or the neighbors dog. What baffles me is he was perfectly fine when he went to bed. After two different times of eating grass he hasn't vomited but is not acting normal. Online they say if he isn't improved in 24 hours to go to a vet. This is almost the 4th of July.....what a time to get sick. I'm sure he didn't plan this. I was thinking how lucky we were he's been so healthy. Buddybear is 11 months old and weighs 7# 4 oz. Input welcome! Last edited by buddybear; 07-03-2015 at 08:00 PM. Reason: spelling |

| Thanks for asking. We spent time in the ER. After blood work which was normal he had subq fluids and some pain meds, we got home about 1:30 am. He had been walking around the house for hours and wouldn't settle down. After reading online that he was experiencing pain is why he couldn't settle. Buddybear offered to bite my dh when he picked him up I knew we had to get to the vets. They are best buds and that was totally out of character. Buddybear is on a bland diet (white rice and cottage cheese) for 3-4days. He is not eating anything right now......just sleeping next to me. They wanted to do two X-Rays keep him over night etc etc etc ..... if he doesn't pick up I will have him back to the vets Monday am. I just gave him 2cc of water and pedylite and will repeat through out the day and night. |

| I hope he is feeling better now, you did right by going to the vet, we sometimes have little episodes of sickened sand just start on feeding boiled rice and chicken and if they can't eat just give the broth water from the chicken to drink, but any signs of pain and we are straight to the vet as these little ones can go downhill fast. Why does it always seem to happen when the vets are on holiday.

| Buddybear is eating fine. I have been giving him dehydrated chicken and white rice. Now he is having a loose stool every time he goes. I hope this will be the end of it soon. Thank goodness we had most of the carpet replaced with laminate flooring. He hates the rain and it's monsoon season which floods our back patio area and takes several hours to drain off. If anyone has a fast cure for loose stool please let me know. At the ER this hadn't started and a bland diet is what they said to do. He is getting 1/4 of a 10 mg pepcid twice a day. Boy are they tiny to cut up and the pill cutter doesn't cut them evenly. He is not playing like he was but does do guard duty and shredded a paper napkin this morning. |

| I have read on YT a spoon or 2 of pumpkin on his food will help with diarrhea, it should help with loose stool. Do not get the canned pumpkin for pies that has spices in it, buy PLAIN canned pumpkin. Don't ya just love the paper shredding lol. Ya just gotta love these lil yorkies.

I'll try to get him to at least taste it again later but I have a idea I will have to make cookies or something with it. Thanks, Jennifer | |

| Maybe the loose stools are coming from the change over from chic with cottage cheese to chic with rice. I'm at a loss. Hopefully members with experience such as yours will come along and add some suggestions. I sure hope this lil guy gets better soon. I hate seeing my babies not being them selves.....Joan
