| Hypothyroid - Leventa Good day all. Ellie was diagnosed with hypothyroid this past weekend. We were waiting last week for the blood test results. They did 2 tests to make sure before putting her on medication. She is now on Leventa 0.1 twice a day. Does anyone have experience with this medication and disease? She has gained so much weight, very sluggish and flaking skin. No hair loss or any of the other issues that are seen with this disease. I would just like some advice and what to expect once this medication starts working. Any help is greatly appreciated.

| My Callie has hypothyroidism. After a couple days of medicine she started to act a lot more energetic and a lot of the symptoms seemed to not be an issue anymore. I hope the medicine helps. When Callie first got put on it they wanted to check her blood a month later to make sure everything was right.

| Thanks. The vet wants to do blood work again in 4 weeks. I hope I see an improvement soon. She's currently weighing in at 13lbs.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | My Wylie has hypothyroid and takes meds 2x per day as well. His main symptom was hair loss and skin issues. He does great on the medication and his fur did come back.

| I saw a change in energy in the first week. It took a little longer for the skin issues with mine to clear up.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It can depend upon whether you have the med correctly titrated at the needed dose. Most dogs do great on the dose you're giving...some may need more or less. If you don't see a change w/in a couple weeks, I'd probably ask your vet about it.

| Ellie has started showing some improvements. She has more energy and is now playing with Pepper instead of snapping at her. She's running more instead of waddling. Thanks for all of the advice.
