| Bronchial Tube collapse issue Hello: My yorkie was diagnosed as having bronchial tube collapse, not trachea. He is much worse at night, on meds but they are not really working. Coughing, sneezing and gasping for air. Has anyone had this, any recommendations or things that helped? Not getting any sleep and very concerned. The Vet specialist did a fluoroscopic exam to diagnosis issue. Thanks |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I don't have any experience with this, but just wanted to welcome you here and offer support and good thoughts for your precious kiddo. I so hope you are able to find something that eases this issue. Is he on meds to help w/ this? What are the specialists recommendations?

| thanks for your thoughts It is difficult dealing with this, and time will tell how things work out. He is on two medications, one to mimimize cough the other to help open the airway. so far they are not doing very well. I hope to hear from someone that has dealt with this before and can offer some advice. I have spent considerable money so far on vet bills not all that I would consider worthwhile. Xrays lead my normal vet to think there was a heart problem, the cardiologist said it looked that way because he was exhaling not inhaling when the xrays were taken.. ok 400 down the drain. You don't know what to trust, especially when the results are not being realized. |

| Hi, this is my first post and I'm hoping someone can help us. We have 12 week old yorkie who seems to have something stuck in her throat possibly, I'm not sure though, she's gagging, choking, coughing, and when she breaths sounds like gurgling coming from her throat .She's already had an x-ray and nothing showed up, he put her on vetoquinol for 7 days, on the last day it's gotten worse then ever. We're at a loss can someone help? Is there a cough medicine that is safe enough to give? She's 3.6 lbs. |
