Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm so worried... Please advise needed ... I haven't posted in a while because as you know life gets busy but I'm here now Nd need the advise of my Yorkie talk friends... My sweet izzy gi is sick.. Yesterday I came home from work at lunch like always...I found vomit of undigested food and water and saliva everywhere. Izzy normally greets me at the door and she was shaking in my bed. Like she was in pain. I took her to the vet immediatel. He did an exam and x-rays and there was no blockag. Gave her an antinausea shot and an antibiotic for her gut. Told me to boil rice and chricken breast. Last night she ate fine and was acting normal. She ate again this morning and at lunch time the rice and Chicken. Seemed fine. Tonight when I have her dinner of the rice and chricken she started acting weird. Then start shaking like she was shivering and kept trying to hide in her bed. Then she threw up the undigested food. She's been drinking a lotore the normal and icing then last few days also. I'm headed back to the vet in the morning but I'm a mess right now And I'm worried sick. I need advise on what to do....please.. TIA

| If she continues to vomit undigested food, I would get her to a specialist that could scope her. Sometimes Dogs and cats can develop a sphincter problem & vomiting undigested food is the #1 symptom. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Well it is definitely pancreatitis..Vet doesn't want her having any food for 24 or maybe even 48 hours. This way the pancreas can rest. After that he wants her on hills ID food. He did a whole blood panel and fecal sample test. So the next 24 hours will tell.. He said he's going to call us tomorrow afternoon to check up on her. If the vomiting doesn't stop then he's want to give her IV fluids.

| So sorry to hear this. Join the pancreatitis club. You will have to feed her prescription or home cook from now on. Balanceit.com have receipes that can be approved by your vet for this problem. Zoey was eating raw when she had her first attack. We got her well and I went back to raw and she had another attack the next year. Now it is RX or nothing. Please don't think you can go back to regular food with Izzy as I did. This is a painful disease. Good luck.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ER vet is my next step... Im waiting for a call back from my vet. My husband already has a call into him. My husband is a police officer and works closely with him on other animal cases in the city. Im sure he'll respond quickly. she is still drinking on her own so that's good I guess.

We took him to the ER hospital a couple of times within his last 6 weeks. I recommenced having a check up with an ER vet and see your options on how to treat your baby. Choco was prescribed with Baytril 22.5mg (RX required) and Famotidine 10mg (This can be bought at any grocery store)(no prescription needed) If you have any questions, don't hesitate in contacting me. Hope your baby is doing well.
