| limping/walking on only three legs Maggie has LP but has never shown any signs of it - and I give her a daily supplement for it. Today at noon I took her out and when we came back in I noticed she was limping and holding her front left paw up. She went right into her crate and slept there the rest of the afternoon (not unusual) but around dinner she still had not come out so I took her out, and she was still limping I put her on the couch to sit with me, and then just now took her out to go potty after dinner. She was running around but limping for sure and holding up her paw as much as she could. I don't know if its the LP or if she maybe hurt herself when we were outside. What should I do? Vet app ASAP? Watch and wait? I have only had her for about 3 months (she is 4yrs old, a rescue) and have not run into a health issue yet. All suggestions welcome.

| Make sure she does not jump up and down off of furniture and try to restrict hard playing and take her to the Vet for a checkup. Since it is her front paw it might not be LP she might have injured herself jumping this happens with Buster. He has bad wrists/elbows on his front legs and sometimes injures himself and will limp and favor his front paw. I am sorry Maggie is in pain. I hope she feels better soon and you may need to have it check out by an Orthopedic Vet.

| Thank you! See, I had no idea LP was only in hind legs...I just called and left a voicemail for my vet to get her in tomorrow. She won't let me touch it, she must really be in pain. My poor baby

| Check her pads and also between them. She may have something stuck inher paw or could have cut it somehow. I rushed one time to the emergency vet when one of my Rainbow Bridge babies injured her front paw running. She had a shot of anti-inflammatory, and the next morning was tearing around the house like nothing bothered her. You can try to rest her and see how she is tomorrow. I hope she heals quickly.

| Yes I think she may have landed in on if funny, when I take her outside she loves to race up and down the three steps off our back door, around in circles...I know for (almost) certain thats when it happened, because she was fine until we came inside. Unless she already had an injury and todays running made it worse. I will keep you guys updates, thanks so much for the responses. Super helpful.

| I had to take Buster to an Orthopedist for his back legs LP and for his front and he thought maybe the bones had not formed correctly. He was diagnosed with this at about a year and a half old. I hope the visit goes well.

| UPDATE: I took Maggie to the vet today and by the time we got there, she clearly had a large abscess on the top (not pad) of her front left paw. The Abscess had broken open and was a bloody pussy mess...it was about the size of a quarter. Poor baby...the vet gave her a shot of antibiotic right away and then she went into surgery to have it properly drained and cleaned. I will be able to pick her up late this evening thank goodness, I didn't want to leave her alone over night...how she got this abscess I have no idea...vet thinks he might have more info when I pick her up. Have any of you experienced this with your pups?

| Oh poor baby, I am so glad that you had already made that appointment. I wonder what she could have caught it on? Sending prayers for a speedy recovery. I am glad it was not something more serious.

| Maggie is home and very groggy (poor thing is walking like she had a few glasses of wine) but doing great, her little paw looks much better than when I left her, and the vet said she should be back to her usual self tomorrow. 10 days of antibiotics and we will be in the clear! Thanks for everyones support. That was my first ailment with my fur baby, this community is priceless! <3

| Yikes poor baby. Glad you got her vet care. Sometimes those things just happen. I have gotten where it is part of our nightly routine for me to go over Callie to check everything to make sure there are no issues.
