| Help! Elevated GGT (liver enzyme) I took Betty Boop to her vet this morning for her annual checkup. All of her blood work panels were within normal range, except her GGT. The high normal is 7 and Boop's was 10. I'm not really sure what this means. Betty Boop is also having really bad allergies and is scratching herself bloody. He put her on Presnisone and gave her Clavamox. He wants to re-run the blood panel 2 weeks after she stops the Prednisone. He is supposed to return my call this afternoon so I can discuss this with him. I wonder if I should ask him about changing her diet or see if Denamarin would be beneficial. Anyone have experience with this elevated GGT?

| I do not have any knowledge or experience in this area, but want to send best wishes to Betty Boop and you. What did your vet recommend?

| I'm ignorant of what this means but I can pray. Surely someone in the know will share with you soon. All my best to Betty!!! Tibbe is pulling for her - he had his own severe itching in the past and knows can be awful! Please update us when you hear from the vet. Hope this is really nothing - just a single blip on a blood test!

| He said we had to do something about her scratching because she was getting an infection. She was scratching herself bloody. I've been keeping tees on her. She is on antibiotics also. I asked him about Denamarin. He is giving her Denosyl. I hope the Pred doesn't do her further harm. I wish the new anti-itch/allergy pill was on the market! Hopefully it will be soon.

My Vet said the Apoquel should be back out by Spring, BUT it was going to be given to Vet Derm's first. The company that makes it never expected such a high demand for this drug and they trying real hard to get more produced and back in the Vet Offices.
