| ouchy. Bruiser had his last set of puppy shots today. He goes back for his rabies next month. We never have had a problem. No sleepy, whiny, or otherwise behaviors. Today, however was a little different. He did his usual yelp when she gave the vac. Got in the truck no problem. We went on a mini walk when we got home, and in to the Xpen while I took my daughter to the pumpkin patch. When I got home tonight, I picked him up over the top of the pen and he yelped. Went to snuggle my neck, yelp. And few more times since then. I'm at a loss, he can run and jump, climb the stairs, crawl under the base of the table to grab a stray strand of pumpkin guts, but yelps when picked up. I was wondering if it just a nervous reaction, but it sounds like pain.

| I'm sure he is just sore. Mine is always sore after a shot and will do that. When did he start his shots? He seems to young to have had all three shots.

| Here in Colorado Springs we start vaccines at 6 weeks (6,9,12, 16). We trend a lot of your puppy ickys constantly due to the wildlife and a lot of resistance to vaccinating. Add the 5 military bases in a 20 mile radius and boom. He'll get titers at 4 months. And teeth and fixed at 6 months.

| I haven't had a puppy in 7 years so I don't know the schedule. I do know that raciness before 8 weeks are useless because of the immunity the mother gives the pup. Yearly boosters are just as important as the first shots. I always have to let everyone in my house know if Callie got a shot because she always seems to be sore. Normally we just lay on the couch together for a nap after a shot so I can watch her. Is he doing better today?

| I have had pups do this. It lasts for 24 hours and then, they are fine. It is a weird thing...but they have actually screamed when I picked them up. The first time it happened, I ran straight to the vet....now, if it happens, I don't panic.

| Oh, yeah. He really likes mcds. (I'm guessing about 2 years old. Fat black bear.) I'm not a fan of fast food, which is why he dumped my trash bin over and grabbed the rest of my burger. Buddy the cat had a fit. Fearless little snot.

| Ann, the titers are for my own sense of well being. I wanted to make sure he is properly immunized. Because I heard 6 weeks was so young. :-) am I digging myself a hole?

Yes financially and unnecessarily, not to mention the discomfort of your pup...I'm not sure a vet would even agree to do that....I know you didn't ask me, just putting my 1cents in!!!
