| sick puppy my 5 month old puppy is sick. yesterday morning he started whimpering and crying loud when the pain in his stomach is too much. he'll stand then sit with his back hunched forward after a minute he'll go back to laying on his side then the pain will returned and he'll repeat standing and sitting then laying down over and over. this morning he seems to get better since he's not crying anymore but he'll just lay down and wont eat. he will drink water but only a little. he has a history of having a too much water in his stomach. last week, when i was feeding them their lunch, (i always watching them finished taking their food) i saw him suddenly drop down, he just lay down for a second and when he tried to stand he can't seem to stand straight and will always fall down, after 1 minute of laying down he stood and walk like nothing happened. i wonder what it was. his body is healthy last week but it just suddenly lose weight. does it have something to do with some type of ulcer. i forgot the name. I think my dog is stress and trauma, 'cause he got bite thrice for getting too close from the other dog's food and whenever my two adult dogs is playing and biting playfully each other and he's too close to them he would cry and just duck. his sister always would bark at him and he would whimper. i can't afford to take him to vet again because i'm just a freelancer and all the money i got from that work is spend in taking all my puppies to vet and buying their medicine. i have a antibiotic here and de-worm and i'm giving him that since the last two weeks they had a worm. |

| It sounds like something more serious than water in the stomach and He needs to go to the vet for tests. These symptoms are too serious for you to self diagnose he really needs a vet. Some of the symptoms sound like liver shunt but there are other things it could be also. I would try all means necessary to get him to a vet but if you absolutely cant go to a vet I would turn him over to a rescue so he can get the care he needs

| It really does sound kinda serious....I would also recommend taking him to his vet...see if they will work out a payment plan with you or apply for care credit if it's available in your area. Trust me I understand the vet costs....we have spent way more money on Winnie in the few months we have had her than I think we have spent on our older dogs their whole life! That's an exaggeration but we have spent a lot on her from emergency visits and medications etc. He could have swallowed something and have a blockage or have terrible gas which is very painful for them or it could be something completely different like a neurological problem or an injury. There is not a way to tell without taking him to a vet. The only thing that's obvious is that there's something wrong by the symptoms your describing that need to be evaluated by a vet....he is showing you something is wrong....please vet him asap Last edited by chickensmith; 10-23-2014 at 04:24 AM. |

| You need to find someway to get this baby to a vet ASAP....he clearly needs medical help. I am praying for this little soul....this baby depends on YOU for help and protection.....you need to keep him from the situation he is having from other dogs in your house. If they realize he is ill, it is likely they will attact him and kill him.....that is a common behavior in pack animals. Please help this unfortunate baby. |
