| no she is not spayed,i have been putting it off as I am terrified about putting her under, she is just under 5lbs and just getting her shots is very traumatic for her,i will take her to the vet in the am.....I also noticed the lump seems to be smaller after some gentle massage are my fears of putting her under unwarranted? is there such a thing as a doggie epideral? |

| Glad you are taking her to the vet to have it checked out. Removing the lump and spaying will probably help if it's a mamo tumor. If you treat a problem when it first occurs then the risk of loosing your baby is much smaller. Some lumps can be nothing but some very serious. Please try not to let your feelings of "what if" get in the way of caring for your baby. I'll be thinking and praying for your girl! Keep us posted.

| Just like people there's always risks with anesthesia....but in my 6 years as a tech we never lost an animal under anesthesia for a normal spay/neuter. You can absolutely have preop bloodwork done. It's highly recommended. I had my 3# chihuahua spayed and she did just fine. Also had her teeth cleaned while she was under....and she had her teeth done under anesthesia every 6 months because she had very bad teeth. I would get her seen for the lump and schedule her to be spayed and have the lump taken care of. |
