| Yorkie has black stuff between his eyes and nose. My yorkie has some black gunk like stuff (that peels off) around his eyes and nose area. When I tried to take it off with a wet towel like I do with the other discharge around his eye, it looks like this picture. Not sure if its an insect bite, an allergy, or infection. If anyone has seen something similar to this, please let me know. |

| Not sure what that is, maybe yeast or fungus? I would have the vet take a look at it.

| I would get him to the vet before it affects his vision. I've never seen anything like that. Keep us posted. I hope it's nothing serious.

| Looks like a possible staph infection. He needs to be seen by the vet. Keep us posted.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I agree with the others, that bad thing about irritation around the eyes, is that they often will scratch the eye trying to relieve the irritation, then you have an eye ulcer with the other problem. It's not normal, so a vet is the best bet.

| It does look like some kind of skin infection....it's definately worth getting it checked by a vet ... they may do a skin scrape to find out. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | You def need to have this looked at by a vet bc this could be ringworm...and it will spread and is also contagious to humans. In dogs, ringworm usually does *not* look like a ring...rather it looks similar to your picture. Hair loss can permanent, so get in asap! Could also be a staph intermedius (pyoderma) infection.

| My little Jaya had a spot that looked like that but it was on her back. Wylie's mom was so helpful and suggested ringworm and that got me to the vet ASAP. Our vet checked Jaya with a black light, ringworm will fluoresce under black light especially around the edges. Who knew!? Please let us know what your vet says. |
