| my 10 year old started with diarrhea and now isn't pooping Hi, My girl was having diarrhea last week started Tuesday late in the day by Thursday morning I noticed a few drops of blood. I panicked and called the vet immediately, I brought her in and they did blood work. They ended up having to shave her bum area as it was all red and irritated, the vet said she was going to treat it as a gastrointestinal infection and gave me antibiotics and told me to put her on a bland diet. She's been eating hamburger and rice since Thursday night, it seemed to help a little making her stool a little more solid. When I got home from work Saturday night she has an accident in the house and while it was firmer than the beginning of the week it still wasnt solid. She hasn't pooped since and it is now Monday afternoon. I called the vet today to check on her results and they still aren't in. She is eating and drinking but I'm concerned that we are going from one extreme to the other... Do I change her to chicken and rice and maybe add a little real pumpkin to see if that will help? |

| add some pumpkin....plain canned pumpkin only no other ingredients..(check with your vet first...) I assume the rice has bound her up now. This has happened to me with mine...I also have put Keylo in a warm bath when she had a hard time passing it and massaged her a bit and that also did the trick.

| Thank you! She has me so worried, it seems like it's taking way too long for her blood work to come back. I want her to feel better asap and it's not happening fast enough. I've been giving her the hamburger rice combo twice a day at about 50/50 of each. Should I try chicken instead? How much pumpkin do you recommend? A teaspoon? |
