| Mysterious Substance Coming From Yorkie? Hello, I recently bought a Yorkie and he is only a few months old. Lately I've noticed that when I try to comb his hair to get the knots and such out, there is something odd happening. His hair mysteriously gets wet on his back (not his whole back, but a part of it). I have tried brushing it very gently and putting on a small amount of a mix of water/conditioner because I read that you aren't supposed to brush their hair completely dry. Even brushing it as gently as I can, the problem still happens. I've tried using Google to help determine what's wrong with him, but there isn't really anything I can find. Any ideas to what might be happening? |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Are you sure that you are not transferring the spray with the brush, and that is perhaps what is causing the wetness? Or is the spray bottle leaking? Have you tried brushing him while completely dry to see if the same thing happens?

| Thank you! Yes, I've tried brushing him while he's try, but the same problem happens. |

| Where is the wetness -- on top of his back or near his bottom?

| There isn't - that's what I found odd and why I had no clue as to what would be wrong. Me, my mom and my sister looked the best we could on his back for any signs of irritated skins and related things and we didn't find any. Also, I haven't smelt an odor of any kind either. This is why I am so confused. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | The only time something similar happened to me was w/ my cat - she actually had an abscess on her back that I didn't know about until it burst through. I would check the back very, very carefully in the area where there is wetness and see if there is a lump or an open sore.
