| Skin Issue Patch With Hair Loss on Our Delilah Hi all! I am a member from several years ago, but for the life of me I can't recall the details of how to log in there. We have two Yorkies, Roxie and Delilah who are the sweetest babies ever! Our Delilah is 5, and she is happy and healthy. Roxie is 7 and she is as well. Today, my daughter was playing with Delilah and ran her hand along her back, backwards. It uncovered a spot of missing hair! We brush her often and bathe her regularly and NEVER have noticed a thing. I am going to post the pic of what we saw, here, in the hopes that someone can give some insight. It isn't red, she doesn't seem to be in pain or anything like that - but it is a 2 inch spot missing hair. She doesn't use topical flea or tick meds, they take orally once a month and it's been 3 weeks. We have a call into our vet but I know what a great resource you guys are so I wanted to ask here too! She is strictly an inside dog, and both girls are up to date on both shots and preventatives. She is acting fine, no illness or anything like that. Thanks so much in advance! | I just posted in another thread too. This happened to a girl I had that passed many years ago and a boy I have now that is 9. Both were diagnosed with allergies. Have you had them checked for allergies? So much more went on though. Both went to specialists and then more specialists and we were told different things. We went through shots, antibiotics, special diets, how we laundered bedding, blankets, toys….you name it. The seasons…and then some. We found the right specialist and now he is fine. But that not knowing was the worst. |

| No, it's on her right shoulder. She was microchipped last month but I am assuming that is between the shoulders. This isn't there. |

I am sorry to hear about your babies! We don't have any updates yet, she is acting just fine, not sick or anything and there have not been any changes or anything like that to her diet so I am just not sure. We will see what the vet says! The thing that scares me (and I know I should stay off Google in cases like this!) is that it looks like dog alopecia. That is very scary indeed! | |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I was going to say vasculitis, which can happen after a vaccine is given - this can sometimes cause a permanent or temp bare patch. But, you said it's not btwn the shoulders, so I kind of doubt it's that. It could be ringworm. My Marcel caught ringworm from his vet when he was a puppy, and it looked similar to this. Glad you're taking her to the vet so you can find out for sure. Keep us posted.
