New puppy - ear issues? I have a 13 week puppy we got 4 days ago. He has been doing what I assume is normal scratching all over, but he has been scratching his right ear and once/day when scratching it, he whimpers (but other times when he scratches it, he doesn't whimper.) I can't see an injury on it and he doesn't flinch when I touch it. It's happened 4 times total - should I bring him to the vet or wait to see if it gets worse?

I concur with taking puppy to the vet's to see what's up. It is not usual to scratch lots, and especially intermittent with whimpering. Poor guy I'm no expert, but I hope that it will be something simple to clear up Please update us with what the vet concluded We can all learn something from each other. Good luck!

My puppy is itching his ears bad and his ears stink not bad but I smell sumthing My puppy is 5 months old and I've spent a lot of money on caring for him as he came infected with giardia and that's a icky deal, I feel horrible too because my husbands a finished carpenter and this winter has hit us hard we've used every cent of our savings on rent and utilities and have drained our bank account down to the cents , in my poor puppy needs to be seen and no one will help , I understand there's a huge need out here in Washington state but I just need a vet that will allow me to pay later as my husbands a finished carpenter/remodeler and gets great work and money its just too cold out to do anything plus no one has money for repairs right now, does anyone have anything they know could help . I'm not asking for a handout I'm just desperate and he's my baby .. I've applied for the vet care credit card and was denied for not having credit built up which if I don't get given the chance to build credit then how the heck can it go up?! I've tried for regular credit cards with the same response!! I need to get my puppy checked out . Thank u
