| Help! Hello Everyone, I have a question, my 3 year old female yorkie Nia stomach looks like a pop belly. She is a house dog that does not go outside, she has not mating with any other dog. She is extra hungry, has been going to the bathroom regularly and is acting like her regular self and she doesn't have vomiting. I want to know what do you think is going on with her stomach. I took her to Banfield for her normal checkup and they started scaring me about her having Infection of the uterus, pregnancy and trying to make me get the sonogram for $300 and I dont want to pay that because they always try to make you take the expensive route to care. Has anyone else yorkie had this problem? |

| No she has not been spayed I was about to get her spayed at the end of this month and she had blood work done over the summer. I have Banfield insurance so I take her in every six months and she was fine last time. Would she be in some type of pain if it was an uterine infection? |

| Well if it were me, there would no question I would start with the blood work. I just don't take chances with mine.

| We had a pup on here just last month that died from infection that had been ongoing for over 3 weeks, untreated. I think you need to take your pup to a vet for a professional diagnosis.....it may very well save her life. I hope you can find a vet that you have faith, confidence, and trust in. Not all vets give you a false or exaggerated educated, professional opinion with suggestion for treatment or procedure, just to suck money out of you. Avoiding vet care because you feel they are being dishonest and are only digging you for $$$$$, can easily cost your pups life. Please find a vet you can trust with the care of your pup. 2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | How is her Poo ? (runny/solid) If she has an upset stomach that could explain the grumbling sounds. You can give her some Pepto-Bismol to help. I always give mine 1 tsp twice a day. Is she spayed ? If she has not been spayed she could be going through a false pregnancy and that on top of an urinary tract infection (UTI) is a very serious issue. If she is suffering from either she could end up being one very sick little girl. If your vet suspect a UTI she needs to be on antibiotics asap.

| Update: Nia liver is acting up again she was managing well with her ld prescription food but now it is time for surgery. Now I'm wondering how much that's going to cost here in Maryland. |

If her liver is malfunctioning, that's likely what the bloating is from. Liver problems can cause terribly severe abdominal bloating. I can't speak to cost, but I'm sure you'll find a way to cover the surgery. There is always a way.
