| Conjunctivitis... Hi all: My baby was not well three days back. In the evening, I saw that one of her eyes was completely covered with yellow discharge, she was squinting and her eye looked a bit swollen...I immediately cleaned her eyes, cut all the hair around her infected eye...then i cleaned her eyes every 5 hours until the morning. I took her to the vet in the morning and she was diagnosed with conjunctivitis. Luckily, since i took her within a day or so, the condition happened to be manageable. the vet ran multiple tests and gave eye drops.... I have been applying eye drops over the last 2 days and I can already see significant improvement. I also came to know that there are multiple cases of conjunctivitis with some that are serious as time goes by...So, while reading about conjunctivitis, i came across the following information which i found useful. In the time you have before taking your dog to the vet, you may follow this: you can trying applying apple cidar vinegar on the scruffle of her neck: Look at the following links Cavachon Eye Problems and Apple Cider Vinegar | The Cavachon Cove http://therealowner.com/health/10-go...cider-vinegar/ Apple Cider Vinegar for Health! |

| I'm glad you brought your baby to the vet and that she is improving with the meds. There is a saying on Yorkie Talk -- don't mess around when it comes to eyes. I strongly agree. Conjunctivitis can be caused by many things. It is always best to have a vet examine the eyes and determine the best treatment. My boy had corneal ulcers. Many home remedies can make ulcers worse, leading to blindness or loss of the eye.
