| Female with Clear Discharge from Vulva Khloe is going in tomorrow for a dental, so I will get this checked out by the vet... But I thought I would post a thread to see if anyone has any idea of what is going on with Miss K. She has been licking herself more than normal and when I bathe her, I notice that her hair down by her vulva is stiff almost like she has hairspray in it... I don't know how else to describe it. She has had issues in the past with crystals, but this seems different. I bathed her tonight and then was just checking things out and noticed a clear, thick discharge from her vulva. Any ideas on what this could be? I'm hoping to go into the vet with some sort of clue... I just want her to be 100% again. I can tell it is bothering her.

| same thing happened to one my dogs (a rescue- always!)....i was weaning her onto other foods with grain from grain free california natural lamb. because of the recall s i always have them on 2 proteins, 2 companies but she was "scooting". I used the ph strips from solid gold and her ph was high (crystals?) and then had a urinalysis. vet found a small amt of bacteria and put her on simplicef. it cleared up immediately. dr google says grain free is better for UTI's... i also use berry balance from solid gold as a preventative. |

| I'm resurrecting this thread because I'm having the same problem with my 11 yr. old. It doesn't seem to bother/irritate her at all, but her hair is getting sticky & I see & wipe the discharge a couple times a day. Thanks anyone for your help.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I have no idea Annie but maybe Michelle can give some input on what her vet said.

| Annie, when I see stuff like that that I think is not really awful but not sure, I call the vet. That saves me sometimes from a visit that might be needed. Then again, it might be needed....so better safe than sorry.

| Now that I've asked for help I think it has cleared up on its own. I'm a very attentive daily/twice daily groomer so I spot things I think many owners wouldn't notice. I wish I had a vet who I could call & ask simple questions, but I haven't found a vet I really like yet here in Vegas. (My kids are pretty healthy so I don't give them enough business, lol.) I'll let you know if anything more comes of this. I was surprised when I did a search here & this was the only thread that mentioned anything like this.
