| Princess might have Pancreatitis Just came back from the vet, will get test results 2morrow afternoon. Got a urinalysis to check if her struvite crystals came back or not. Her last urinalysis was about 4 months ago, but got tested anyway since we were there. She's been having very loose bowel movements, different colors (dark & light), all w/mucus & some blood. Even had some undigested chicken in her stool. She's a mess, no appetite, dehydrated, she hasn't lost any weight, but she looks skinny, maybe it's all the fluid loss from her little body. The only good thing is that she's not vomiting. She got the usual sub-q fluids, vitB shot, penicillin shot & she was running a low fever, almost 103. Came home w/Hill's i/d canned food & antibiotics (start 2morrow). I think it started when I gave her some beef canned food mixed w/her kibble over the weekend. It was the last can I had & she didn't want to eat her kibble, so I gave it to her. She ate it up but had loose BM that evening. She still had a good appetite & ate her raw food for dinner. The next morning, she wouldn't eat & her BM was worse. IDK if it was a combo of the higher fat foods or what, but she was doing so well w/the raw food until I gave her the canned food. Vet thinks the canned food did it. She has a history of having colitis episodes & @ her last really bad one, vet said to be very careful or it might escalate to pancreatitis. She ate 2 tbspns of the i/d & is resting now. Will go for a walk in about 2 hrs. I'm just hoping it's not pancreatitis...will update 2morrow w/her test results. Please say a little prayer for Princess, I am so worried for her. Thank you! Took these w/my cell phone 2day, coming back home fm the vet...her back is all puffy from the sub-q fluid 0909131609a.jpg0909131610.jpg didn't put on her harness bc of the sub-q...she got to walk leash free fm the parking garage to our unit...she was very good, even looked back to check if I was following her loll.

| Thank you! Princess is eating the canned i/d well. I was worried that she wouldn't eat bc she didn't have much of an appetite. She hasn't had a BM yet...Something funny, during our walkies, the sub-q fluids migrated down to her chest, she's got 1 boob loll!

| Sub-q fluids are great for dehydrated pups, her gums were kinda sticky & a off greyish color. I'm not sure how much they put in, but we went out 3 hrs after she got it, so she still had some in her. Now it's petty much gone & she's sleeping contently next to me. I don't hear gurgling noises from her belly either. I think we both can get a good night's sleep tonight.

| Oh no! I'm so sorry and praying that Princess just has a bit of colitis instead of pancreatitis. It's nasty stuff. My yorkie had it in June and it took a long time for him to get back to normal. We were able to give him sub q fluids at home, which really helped his recovery. BTW, it's pretty normal for the fluids to drop down under the belly like that before they're absorbed completely. We used to say Scooby had "man boobs". LOL Did your vet do the cPL test that is sent out to IDEXX? Please post when you get the results. I will continue to pray for a fast recovery.
