YorkieTalk Newbie! | Lobster shell/ shellfish harmful or not to yorkies Ok I have 2 yorkies. 1 is almost 2 years old and the other is about 10 weeks old. They decided to get into the trash today and ate 2- 4oz cooked lobstertail shells. I am really concerned for my babies. I am afraid the sharp shells will harm them internally. 1 or both I'm not sure threw up but both of them seem to be doing fine now any help would be much appreciated thanks... |

| I understand why you are frightened, and I'm so sorry. I will pray for your babies' health and safety. I have no experience with this, but I would turn to my vet for this. I would imagine that the shells would show up on x-rays and they could see where the shells are sitting in the intestines.

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I would hope they chewed up those shells and then swallowed them. They should pass in the stools. I would call the vet and explain the situation and see what they say. I bet they say watch them for signs of obstruction. I am going to pray all that will pass and they will be fine. No more trash digging for them. |

| Lobster shells are very sharp, and I doubt if chewed and swallowed that it would be chewed up so small that it would not harm a 10 wk old puppy. Bones can shells can cause internal bleeding, and even death. Please go to the vet for xray.
