| Giardia So now after 2 rounds of panacur, Bentley now has giardia cysts in his stool. I thought for sure the last round of meds would get rid of it, instead it is worse. How does that happen? I am waiting for the vet to call back to answer that for me. I also need to know if its ok if he plays with other dogs at doggie daycare because that could create a problem for the dog sitter and her dogs. Any suggestions? |

| Bumping for you, since I have no experience in this. I hope you get him in at the vet when they call back. Prays to you and your little one.

| Sometimes treatment with metronidazole will get it...OR treatment with both at the same time. What is your vet suggesting? As for transmission, probably not likely IF they are careful with his feces. But...of course it is possible.

| She just called me back and said that she is putting him back on panacur for a little longer this time and also flagyl to help the panacur be more effective. She said sometimes she has seen where it takes 5 or 6 treatments of the meds. |

| Yep! I think that will work....the addition of metronidazole will more than likely do it.

| ladyjane, now I am reading the side effects of that medication, has anyone ever experienced any side effects from this? I know they have to supply side effect info as they do with people meds so I am hoping it is just that and he doesn't have any side effects. |
