Puppy hit head I have a 16 week old puppy and she was playing on my kitchen tile. She jumped up and slipped and hit head first on the tile. She cried/whimpered for a little then went straight to biting my fingers (like usual). My last puppy my family had, we dealt with concussions/seizures from the pup hitting her head on the corner of a door, so I'm super paranoid right now. Should I call my vet, or wait and see how she acts - and if she starts acting goofy, vomiting, or lethargic, then call? HELP! I'm freaking out!

If you are concerned I say call the vet. That way it'll rest your nerves and set your worries to rest!

| If she starts acting goofy, walking weird, etc. she'll need to see the vet. If you're unsure, you could have the vet take a look at her, he would be able to tell if she needs steroids or not.

I would let the vet take a look, just to be on the safe side. I hope your puppy is OK!

gabby7, I hope your angel is doing well! I have seen this happen more than once with Yorkies I have/had. Our problem is they would jump up on the couch and go full force into the coffee table we had as it had an overhanging top they couldn't figure out. It only happened a few times but seeing something that tiny jump up with full velocity and hitting the underside of the coffee table is terrifying. We kept a close watch to make sure they were ok. They would be "dazed" for a few minutes but business as usual. Having said that, as stated above, if your dog starts acting out of character I would take it to the vet. Ours suffered no ill effects but wow....it is so sad to see that happen to such a small dog. Good luck and she should be fine! They are tough little dogs and seem to have a good noggin on them.
