| tummy ache and shaking Has anyone had their yorkie get a tummy virus and shake? Buttons has not eat right for going on 2 days. She did eat just a litte this morning and will drink water. Took her to the vet yesterday and they said if she didnt eat by today take her back so I did. So today they did blood work and that was fine and found she was a little dehydrated so they gave her fluid via IV. She is still not herself and has little shaking spells. Has anyone gone through this and did your yorkie shake some? Please help..I hate seeing her this way |

| I'm sorry to hear Buttons is not feeling well. Has she thrown up or had diarrhea? Do you know which blood tests were done?

| Shaking is not normal at all I would take buttons to the vets and get a blood panel done. I am so sorry Buttons is not feeling well I know how upsetting and stressful for you. Sending prayers..

| she hasnt had diarreah but yesterday would spit up yellow foamy substance and she has done that in the past like if something had upset her stomach. I know they did the RBC and WBC count and for pancreas and other stuff (cant remember exact name of them) the vet said all looked good and she was dehydrated. I just cant understand the shaking unless her stomach hurts. |

YT 2000 Club Member | Buttons might be in pain and that could be causing the shaking. If she hasn't eaten much, her sugar might be low. Try giving her some Nutra-cal. It is a high calorie supplement with lots a nutrients! A little bit of boiled chicken and steamed rice would be something she might eat. Did the vet take her temp? She might have an infection that requires an antibiotic. I would be back at the vets, if she doesn't get better by tomorrow!

| I agree with Spiritwings that shaking is not normal, usually a sign of pain, and that Buttons needs to be seen by the vet again for additional testing. Yellow foam is often bile from the stomach being empty. One my boys would do that in the morning when he was a pup and had gone too long without food. Is she a good eater?

| You can get Nutracal (or its equivalent) at Petsmart or any big pet store. Your vet might have it too, or know where to get it. That said, Nutracal is not a substitute for food and contains large amounts of sugar and is used to treat hypoglycemia. If you give nutracal, be sure that water is available to drink, and try to follow it up with your dog's favorite food as soon as she is willing and able to eat. |

| she usually is a good eater. The vet told me her shaking could be pain or from where she was dehydrated. It scares me so I wil watch her tomorrow. I just want her to start eating again like normal. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Could she possibly have hurt her back? Once one of mine wouldn't eat and walked hunched over and I thought it was her tummy but she was in pain from a back problem. Just a thought. Also, my Pixie started shaking when it rains or thunders she as 5 years old and never had a problem before. I hope you can find out what is causing her shaking.

| update to Buttons...I got up this morning and there was no food in her plate!! I was so happy and she acted half way like herself. She did shake just a little when I put her in the bed with my husband. I am just so glad she ate!! |

If the symptoms continue, I would take her back to the vet for additional testing -- back as Patti suggested, liver functions tests, for instance.
