Sick or first heat? I have 2 nine mo old yorkies, female and male. First grooming Tues, Wed my female is shaky, quiet, doesn't want to play, eat or drink. Male is fine and he ended up getting shaved. Took Leah to the vet and they said she had a low grade temp 102.8. They put her on an antibiotic and 1/2 a baby aspirin daily if needed. She is not vomiting and no diarrhea. Could she possibly be going into her first heat? I just keep thinking thats whats wrong. If she's not better by Mon or worse will see vet again. Just wanted some yorkie advice

No, Does not sound at all like a heat cycle. Do you have Nutri-Cal? She will go down on sugar if she's not eating. Watch her close, she can go down very quickly.

Have you taken her temperature again? If she's not eating, drinking, not playing and shaking, something is wrong. I would call my Vet again.

Jess acted totally weird after her first grooming appt last week too. She was very tired, shaky and itchy. She bum scooted a couple times. Her eyes were glassy. I thought she felt warm as well. She shook when i put her in the car the next day until she realized all we were doing was going for ice cream! After a couple days she was fine. I am going to go somewhere else where I can watch. They prob didnt do anything (they were highly recomended) but just think it traumitized her...
