| Strange episode?? Last night Ellie who is 14 weeks old was playing very hard with hubby, she was running really fast (which she has done before) and acting her crazy self when she gets wound up. When my hubby sat on the couch she layed by his feet all spread out and wouldn't move! When hubby picked her up she was limp!! We were so scared! He put her on the counch and when I went over to her after a few minutes she perked up and started licking and biting me and was fine after that. She's going to the vet tomorrow for a shot and I will mention this to her but has anyone else had anything like this happen or have any idea what this was about? Thanks |

| She was probably just worn out or a possibly dip in her blood sugar.

YT 2000 Club Member | Sounds like a drop in her blood sugar....Nutri Cal will bring it back up. Get your vet to check this out. Hypoglycemia is dangerous and a puppy can die from this!

YT 2000 Club Member | You should be feeding the puppy at least 3 times a day or free feeding. Small puppies need to eat often. If they are very active or stressed they may also have an episode of hypoglycemia. Talk to your vet about this as it can happen again.

YT 2000 Club Member | Try moistening it with warm water or adding some canned food to her kibble. If that doesn't encourage her to eat, you might have to try a different food.

| I agree. It sounds like she just pooped herself out. My dogs when they were puppies ran around the house like crazy and then they just collapsed. It could also be a drop in sugar. Always keep Nutri Cal on hand when you have a puppy or for that matter any dog. I keep a few tubes just in case our youngest dog is 9 months old and he is a nut. When I put him in his cage he falls asleep in a matter of minutes. I guess puppies are like babies that just keep going until they get tired. |
