| Calvin had a seizure Almost 2 months ago my dog had a seizure 30 minutes after he took 1 lick of any poison. We called an emergency vet and they said ant poison can't harm dogs but he had a seizure right after that. Was it just a coincidence and what are common reasons for seizures in dogs? |

| We did get him checked out because the ER told us that ant poison was not harmful. We just kept a close eye on him and he never had anything serious happen since. |

| I can only suggest you continue to watch him....he may never have another one....or as he gets older, they could become regular....there are members on here that have babies on medication for seizures, so it is something that can be controlled. If he has another, I would take him to a vet school and have him worked up by a specialist to pin point a cause, so you can start preventative treatment. |

| Since he had a seizure, I would take him to the Emergency Vet for a thorough examination.

| Have you taken her to your vet for what you call seizures, if not a vet visit is an absolute must.
