| No poop after neuter Kuma was neutered on Friday morning (and had two baby teeth pulled) and he still hasn't pooped. He pooped three times friday morning and had diarrhea for awhile after the surgery. The gave him a dose of GI meds in the afternoon and he had one little loose poop that evening after he was home (and was dragging his butt around on the floor) But nothing since then. He ate twice Saturday and also this morning and still no poop. He has peed alot. Doesn't seem to feel badly, is sleeping alot from the pains meds....and he hates his cone

| They can have trouble going poop after a surgery but since he had diahrea he may just be constipated now. You could give a little canned pumpkin it is a stool regulator

| Hi, I think the no poop thing is more normal than people think. I wish vets would mention this during the whole thing. Mandie had a problem with constipation due to the meds (and I also think she was having a little pain from straining to poop so then that just made her not want to go). There is a recent thread in this section of a similar situation. My advice is to feed Kuma some fiber (like carrot sticks and/or green beans). Also, might want to talk to the vet about a stool softener and/or just go get some mineral oil and give Kuma a little on his food. I did the mineral oil on food and rubbed some on Mandie's rear end. Eventually, my vet did an enema but I really don't think it was needed in hindsight.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yes, it's good to keep some around the house; it works on constipation and diarrhea. After opening a can, I put the rest in tablespoon sized scoops in baggies and freeze them. It will go bad if left in refrigerator. Or you could make some pumpkin cookies!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yeah, they remind me of carrot cake, same types of seasonings, clove, and cinnamon, they are yummy! Just in case you get constipated or have diarrhea!
