| Callie threw up Hey guys Callie has been watched VERY well sense her procedure except for possibly 4 or 5 minutes here or there for human potty breaks. Well I went in my officeish area this morning to unplug my cell phone and noticed in front of her dog bed in there that there was a little bit of throw up not a lot and there was no chunks or anything in it and it is fresh enough to be from either late last night or this morning. I saw here wonder in there for a minute or two last night but she didn't stay very long. She finally pooped late last night when I took her out for her last potty break. Today is supposed to be her last day of pain meds and then she still is on antibiotics twice a day for a little while longer. She is acting ok but I am just worried about the throw up. Do you think she is ok and I should just make sure to keep watching her very well and wait to see if she gets sick again before I get super worried?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Try not to get super worried. Pain meds can make tummies feel sick, that's pretty common...and on top of that the antibios could be bothering her tummy. Did she eat yet this morning? It wouldn't be a bad idea to give her some little pieces of white bread or of cracker...that can settle the tummy and absorb some of the nauseous juices that develop in the tummy when it occurs.

| I agree, don't worry. When Max had pain meds and antibiotics, our vet seemed surprised that he had zero problems. Mr. Cast Iron stomach. Best wishes to Callie as she recuperates.

| Yep, just keep an eye on her and don't worry too much. I am sure it is just a passing thing...sometimes they get upset tummies just like we do!

| Pain meds can decrease their appetite, she may not have eaten enough last night and threw up some bile because of that. Her appetite should increase when the pain meds are discontinued so I doubt she'll do it again... I wouldn't worry unless it continues.

| Whew saw the title of this thread and I got worried....thank goodness she is ok!! I agree with the others here...darn meds, poor Mini use to do this often till I got here on the Purina HA..now none! It is very common with meds. Glad she is getting back to normal!

| How is she doing this afternoon, Taylor? (sorry, I'm just now seeing this) I tend to think that it's the meds messing with her tummy, too. Praying she's feeling all better soon

| No more throw up. She is sleeping right now but has started to be a lot more herself the little trouble maker lol. Last day of pain meds unless she seems to be in pain tomorrow. She also gets to have a little more texture to her food tomorrow too. We have decided no Sunday play day with Sammy this week though.

| I hope Callie is feeling all better. Cozy pulled something in her leg the other day playing with her daughters and was limping for a few days- Soft tissue damage only. She kept right on playing though on 3 legs. That is a true Mama!
