| More prayers for Adonis, AGAIN.. he's rocking to and fro....but eating. Walking VERY SLOW, when he does walk....doesn't seem to want to sit down, although he's very unsteady on his legs. When I asked if he wanted to go out...he didn't do his usually barking like mad and beating me to the door. He walked very slowly I called vet again, nurses hadn't quite left, but vet had. They got ahold of vet, and he said they think he might be in pain, and told me to come get something for pain. Said if he gets any worse, call animal ER. He seems to be afraid to sit or lay down. |

| Since he was having to pee a lot, is it possible that he has a Kidney or Bladder infection? Those can be very painful. Prayers going out for Adonis.

| I did call and go to the ER with Adonis. We stayed almost 4 hours. He'd kept trying to stay standing and landed on his rump 2 times...right before I made the ER call. I'm like we're outta here. They did some lab work, and one if the levels for the liver was WAY up. They did ex-ray, and it looked a little swolen to them (looked frigging huge to me, but I'm not a vet). They didn't charge me for the ultra sound they did, but didn't see anything abnormal on it. He also had a little temp. But they said none of this was anything they could treat. And if all this continues, they'd recommend a neurologist. They seem to think that the wobbeling and unsteadyness is from the luxating patella and the extra weight he's gained. He used to be 7-8 pounds and now he's a hefty 11 pounds. So hard to feed 2 yorkies, when they like to steal eachothers food. Said to keep him off his feet, it'd be best to crate him this weekend. So I pulled Venus's old crate out and he's in it now. Its on the bed with me and Venus, since they both sleep with me. If he's not in the crate, he wants to continue to stand up, and those back feet come out from underneath him, and he wobbles from front to back. He did eat before we went, and after we got home, and is drinking. But what I gave him tonight was a lot smaller portion than what I usually give him. Gave me a few things to watch for, and if any happen, to bring him back in immediately this weekend, and they said their wouldn't be another emergency visit charge, but only if they ran more tests. He's on 1/4 of a 50mg of Tramadol for pain. Needless to say last few days has sure been a roller coaster, and has torn me up inside and out. I live alone, and I love this boy more than many people love their kids. Its breaking my heart in 2, knowing he's 11....and it isn't getting any dang better, looks to me like its getting worse, and seems its nothing "treatable" after seeing my vet, and an emergency vet and all the $$ its costing to get NO RESULTS. I don't mind charging all this, but dang, tell me SOMETHING can be done for my boy! Thank God for Visa, and good credit. So, since not much different but crating him to keep him off his back feet, pain med, and a little fever, and elevated Liver, I still don't know chit. Thanks for the continued prayers, and all the cheering me on. Sorry its taken so long for my reply. |

| I'd ask the vet for some Denamarin asap, it's a nutri-ceutical (nutritional supplement) that protects the liver and helps it to regenerate, and to process toxins out of the body. Which liver enzyme is high? ALT? Denamarin is something you can do for him, regardless of the cause of the liver problem.

| ALT was 291 normal is 0-120 PLT WAS 888 NORMAL 200-500 RBC WAS 5.05 Normal is 5.50-8.50 MCV was 72.6 Normal is 60-72.0 PH WAS 7.449 Normal is 7.35-7.45. This was done at ER Saturday. For those of you who know anything bout blood work. I've googled some of this. Please keep my boy in your prayers. He's walking VERY slow today, but no longer doing the rocking from front to back stuff he was doing Sat. He's laying in his bed and sleeping a lot. He seems much better than he did Saturday, but the PLT and ALT levels really scare me chitless though . I've crated him at night, and put the crate on the bed with me. ER doc was really concerned that his luxating patella was the cause of him not standing. I've kept him confined to the room I'm in, in the daytime. He's been eating ok, drinking, and eleminating both #1 and #2, outside in the yard. |
