| my worst fear... came true...brought keylo back to the vet today and the vet believes she has a collasping trachea not kennel cough. we have some medicine to hopefully help but my heart is broken for her!! shes only a baby. im not gonna throw her away like her previous ownder did. imma gonna love her and do anything i can to help her! im so thankful for yt so i can research deeply and have a support system of those who have gone through the same thing. i just hope in the end keylo will be ok. we have started her on a supplement for now and we will go from there. keep her calm and limit her walking exercise. any other tips would be most appreciated. i cannot even wrap my mind around this at the moment.

| Why does the vet think this? Is he real familiar with Yorkies? Were any tests done? When is the pup coughing? When she breathes in or when she's breathing out?

| My heart goes out to you. Do not feel this is the end of the world. It isn't. There are some good meds available and other aids to make your little one comfortable.

| My baby Gracie had a collapsing trachea that she had from a very young age. She lived every moment to the fullest, and it was difficult to restrict her from playing. When she would get too excited, her trachea would swell and her temperature would rise. I started wetting her feet with a spray bottle but often moved to submerging her in cool water to get her breathing back to normal. I was very careful with her on walks, always carried ice with me wherever I went with her, and learned how to get her the help that she needed to bounce back after an attack. She knew herself when she needed to cool down in the summer and would run to the back door so that she could go out and cool down in the pool. Gracie's sister Ashley had a collapsing trachea, but it was when she was older and not as severe as her. It affected her heart (enlarged heart) and caused her to take in too much air into her belly, but we used Chinese herbs that helped a lot. Ashley lived a month shy of seventeen. I'm so sorry to hear about Keylo. I am sure you find a way to help her. I am here if you have any questions.

| when excited but sometimes when sleeping. it sounds like a cough or gagging but im not sure if its upon ex or inhale. i will try and monitor it when i get home and have a better answer. i havent monitored it so closely because i thought she had kennel cough. i have kept her as calm as i can. no official testing yet. i want to get her through the issues shes having with her bum. i brought her this morning cause her anal glads were full. she has already had a spay surgery and made it through so im hopeful we can get further testing in the upcoming weeks to know the serverity. the medicine i got i forget the name but we started her on that already. im getting another opinion for sure either way.

| thanks everyone. i know this is the best place to get any info i need. plus i do need to research. im a lil blind to the exact details of what testing officially needs to be done and so on. and sorry i didnt bring her today my dd did for me....but that is the diagnosis the vet gave...im not sure how experienced with yorkies she is as she is new to the practice. so my not being there was not so great but i had no idea we would get this news. i asked my dd why she didnt give me the info on friday and she said she wanted to research it more...so my assumption is not heavily experienced with this.

| I'm so sorry that Keylo is sick but if there is any chance it isn't CT, hold onto that. Still, sounds like it may be something you can help her to manage if it is, depending upon the severity of her type? Keep us updated as you learn more. Prayers coming your way for Keylo.

YT Addict | I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this. I'm glad you are getting a second opinion because it sounds to me like the Vet isn't very sure. Especially if she in new. I will be praying for your little one. Please keep us updated.
