| My yorkie has diarrhea Long story short I found some fleas on my yorkie last month. The vet put vectra 3d on him and recommended I do it once a month for 3 months. For both doses last month and this month ( a few days ago) he had diarrhea a few days later. He's had diarrhea all since early this evening and I gave him an ammodium ad pill about 2 hours ago. He won't drink and he's shivering. Any recommendations or advice? Thank you in advance. |

| He could be having a reaction to the flea med. If my dog were having symptoms such as these, I would be going to the vet/ER ASAP. Also I would Not give any other meds or OTC drugs unless you have discussed it with your vet as some OTC things have things in them that are toxic to dogs. | If this were my dog, I would be taking him to the vet....neurological signs and symptoms are common side effects of flea meds....tremors, staggering, drooling, twitching, (shivering could be fine tremors) anything like that could very well be from the flea med. |

| Is your pup ok? You really should always check with a vet before giving any medication...I would think an entire Immodium pill would be too much for a tiny yorkie.

| I have never heard of using it....my vet has never suggested it; so I am sure you are correct.

| Some of thhe human antidiahreals have asprin in it so that could be whats in it there is no way I would give a med meant for a human to a dog without a vet telling me its okay they know whats in these meds and if its safe or not

| Also another thing these Med companies are always changing the formulas on these meds thats why its important to check with a vet first because what was safe to give once before may not be safe now

| Hi everyone. Sorry for the late response. The following morning my yorkie was feeling a lot better. I guess it was one of those 24 hr virus'. We took him to the vet anyway and we're considering an alternative to the vectra. Thank you for the responses |

| All my vets have always said Immodium was fine. I have larger yorkies, and their dosage is only 1/4 pill, so I would question an entire pill. I'm wondering if there was a formula change recently? I'll be sure to ask the internist we've been seeing for Rory's intestinal issues next week.

| I'm glad you got him to the vet and that he's feeling better. Hopefully you find an alternative so that if he did have a reaction, he won't have one again. Thank you for updating us!
