| Anxiety, scared, what to do? Winston started to act strange last night. I was working on a project on the dining room table, and he was just going round and round the table. I let him outside, but he came right back in. He just kept running back and forth. He seemed nervous. He was trembling. I tried to spend time with him and put him on the sofa with his favorite blanket. He sat on it, far away from me, then as soon as he sat down, he got up and came over to me, then went back. He kept doing this. It was like he couldn't get comfortable. I also noticed him panting a few times. This was so odd. I called the vet and they said to just wait and see if there are any changes in half hour. Then I found a tick on the outside of his ear and my son and I removed it. It was in pretty good. But, he was still trembling, so I took him down to the vet. He didn't throw up in the car, like he usually does. We waiting 1.5 hours until seeing the vet. By this point, the trembling stopped. He was very tired and it was bed time. His temp was good and everything checked out okay. So, I was hopeful that this problem was over. This morning, he's acting the same way. He seems to be afraid to go outside. I wonder if something happened to him yesterday while out, a bee sting, and encounter with a bird or rodent? I just don't know. But, he is acting so weird, and it does seem like it could be anxiety. He didn't poop this morning, but he did pee. He also ate last night when we got home from the vet. So, that is good. He is 10 months old and 3.4 lbs. The vet did mention liver shunts, since his behavior is weird, but she said that usually happens right after they eat, and he didn't eat all day yesterday. Any ideas? If it is that something scared him, how do I get him back to his old self? |

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | I wish I could help you but I am a newbie Yorkie Mom and have no experience with this type of thing. I will be praying for both of you. Hopefully someone else will have some advice for you. Yorkie hugs, Louise |

| Sounds like something happened to him...birds are learning to fly and parents are diving at dogs and cats out in the yard...maybe he got "attacked" by a bird...it could be that tick on his ear made him scared....something strange hanging onto his ear.....did you check his butt??? Dingle berries will make them act strange...everything on their little bodies MUST be absolutely correct, just like they are used to, ...if there is one little thing that is new or unusual or weird to them, they will act squirrely! |
