| Possible sting or bite on Teddy's back I'm writing this primarily as a reference for others who may encounter similar things and as a reminder to check our doggies daily for anything unusual. I took Teddy to the vet this afternoon because he had a very large, soft lump between his shoulder blades that came up quickly. The first thing that came to mind was Jadabug's (Michelle) Jada who had to have a benign lump removed surgically from the same place. However, Teddy was scratching at his shoulders, so there was some itchiness and irritation. We have not used any Frontline this year and Teddy has not had any vaccinations recently, so I knew neither of those were the cause. The vet thinks Teddy was stung or bitten by something. The lump is already smaller, although still significant in size. Teddy has to take prednisone for a week and use a topical spray on the area. Crossing fingers and paws that the meds take care of the mysterious hunchback bump.

| Thank you Rhonda and Shinja for the well wishes. I should have taken one yesterday when I found the bump. We waited until today to go to the vet because I wanted to see our doctor and I knew Teddy was okay for the night. I discovered the bump when I was bathing Teddy. As soon as he was wet, it was very prominent and a couple inches in diameter, right at the shoulders. It doesn't show when he is dry. It is noticeable to the touch.

| Kristin, Thank goodness it was nothing like what Jada had!! Poor Teddy has to have been uncomfortable thought with the itching. I hope the meds kick in and he can rest without it aggravating him.

Thank you Michelle. Teddy didn't scratch at all today, thank goodness, and it was only about 4 -5 times yesterday. It wasn't constant. That would be consistent with a sting or bug bite, I think. However, he did seem to like the spray the doctor gave us.

| Awwww poor Teddy man. Hope it gets better soon. I'm almost positive Jackson got stung by a bee yesterday. We were walking in the house and I saw one on the porch and all the sudden we got inside and he was freaking out, rubbing his face against the floor and batting/swinging at his face and almost trying to bite at his own face. It only lasted about 40 seconds and then he shook his head and was done. But I had seen the stupid bee and I'm pretty sure that's what happened. Never felt any bumps or anything but I'll have to double check him.
