| Ollie has a lump :( I haven't posted in a long time.. I still lurk on the board but just don't have the time to be as active as I would like. We are heading to the vet tomorrow.... Mya just for normal stuff, shots and heartworm... Oliver, for the same, but also for a lump that is on his left hind leg. Obviously, I am worried about the outcome. It has grown in size, but does not seem to bother him and he still appears healthy. In my head I know it's probably nothing, but I fear the worst! Oliver has had such a hard life as it is, and I don't think he will truly ever be "normal" and feel safe and secure. I'm not sure how much I'll be willing to put him through. Prayers/good thoughts very appreciated...

| Thanks Patti... definitely not a bug bite, its been there too long. She really didn't know what it is just by looking... They took a biopsy and I should have results by Friday. It is going to be a long few days...

| Oh, lumps can be scary. Can be nothing, like a lipoma or something but still you worry, I know. I will be waiting & praying with you. I pray for good news!

| It's a CYST!!! No treatment needed unless it starts to bother him. I am so relieved, I worried all day... Totally impressed with the vet, results and a phone call within 24 hours. Wasn't so impressed with the bill but I don't care, at least now I KNOW and don't have to feel sick everytime I touch the lump.. it's nothing!! Woo hoo! Thanks Patti and Jilly for good thoughts, prayer, and support. Not too many people understand that he's my baby and if he was sick it would kill me.

| Oh glad to see that it's all good Whew! I had a scare with Izzy when I first got her from a former member here. She had a warty-looking growth on one of her hind legs near her bum that just looked cancerous. Thank goodness it was nothing, was removed and never grew back. SO glad your baby is just fine!

| I'm soooo glad is was benign. I totally understand the fear associated with your baby being sick or maybe in jeopardy. It is awful while it is ongoing. It is so good to find out that they are okay or going to be - such a relief! Hope you have a peaceful weekend!

| Yes I do know the feeling of loving your baby. We have 6 babies and Oliver who is our 1 1/2 year old shih tzu had a very high liver bile count I believe it was 700. He was put on med (forgot the name) for a month and then off for a month. We are bringing him back for retest in two weeks. I am a nervoius wreck. They were supposed to neuter him but couldn't. He has been acting normal in every way so far. So we have to see what happens. |

| I'm glad to hear that it's just a cyst. My mom's shih-tzu has had a lump on her back leg that is full of liquid. The vet said if it's not bothering her, to leave it alone. It is about the size of a golf ball, but it does not slow her down.

| Thanks everyone We had a quiet and restful weekend (on top of worrying, I've also been sick for 3 weeks.. meds finally kicking in and I'm feeling human again) and had lots of naps and cuddles... today was grooming day for much needed puppy cuts and my wonderful groomer was also so happy to hear the news that Ollie is ok. She knows how worried I have been. Lexi, I sure hope your Oliver is going to be ok... from what I have been reading there are definitely treatments out there for liver issues, I will be keeping him in my thoughts and prayers!
