| Sophia has been biting her skin A vet visit is in order for Sophia. She had a little brown spot on her arm about 2 weeks ago. She had a nail trim scheduled anyway, so I pointed it out to the vet techs. They said it just looks like she's been chewing on her arm so I should watch it. If it doesn't get better, then come back! Well, it went away for awhile. This weekend she's been really biting herself on both arms and her legs . She has a bunch of spots now! It looks like several little tiny bruises. Poor baby! It just pains me to see her itching and biting her own skin. I've attached pictures. If anyone has a better idea of what it is, please let me know I am really really really hoping its not her food. It took forever to find a food that doesn't upset her stomach. Keep Sophia in your thoughts please! I'm not sure if the vet is open tomorrow, but I'll call bright and early like I always do, just in case they are open

| Blue buffalo basics (Turkey and potato) It seems like she gets more itchy when it rains, which makes me feel like it may be environmental. But I don't know

Riley just recently had an allergic reaction to some food after he had been eating it for about 4 - 6 weeks. The vet said it could take that long sometimes for them to have a reaction. He was allergic to the grains in the food. I switched him to Acana and he has cleared all up. I was going to say maybe it is environmental..... Riley also has them but he only gets round marks on his tummy. ?!?! I am able to give him 1/2 a benadryl twice a day if I need to. Last edited by RileyDC; 05-27-2012 at 03:28 PM.

| I seriously doubt that this is from food. I would ask the vet. It looks to me like her harness is also causing some irritation. Maybe the whole thing is related? Oh, that third picture sort of looks like she might have a staph infection. Since this is on her legs and belly, I would be more inclined to think it is from grass. When they scratch, they end up with infections. Definitely needs to be seen by the vet imho.

Riley has got one or two round dry spots before with his allergies and I usually rub some Nutiva Organic Coconut Oil on them and they go away.... Also the vet said he had dry skin so I started giving him Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet.... that seems to help as well.

| Aww poor Sophia Jada has food allergies and it is heartbreaking when you see them so uncomfortable. I hope the vet can find out what is causing it and it is nothing serious.

| Oh my goodness Linda!! I had no clue dogs could get staph too!!! I sure am learning a lot about staph lately. I too just found out that staph is naturally on the skin. Poor Sophia! I hope you get to the bottom of this soon. I think a vet visit is the best thing!
