| Bordatella shot.. allergic reaction.. First off, I want to make it clear that I am working with my vets (regular + emergency) and following their instructions to the letter. Has anyone had a problem with bordatella shots? Tashi hadn't ever had one before, as her groomer kept her in a seperate kennel and she went in very early in the morning while there weren't other clients. I might need to go to Korea for a week this year, so I got her bordatella in case I need boarding. She's been through a lot in the last 24 hours. First, I took her to the vet where he poked her with a needle and dripped another vaccine in her nose. Then, several hours later, she had a reaction to the vaccine. I was trying to sleep at around 2am, and she was trying to dig to China starting with my head. She was panting non-stop, digging, and generally acting strange. I realized something was definitely wrong, got out of bed and called the vet. They told me to go get a thermometer. I tried the normal pharmacies first (where I could park right out front and leave her in the car for 3-4 minutes without worrying) and all were closed. So we had to brave Wal-Mart. No way in hell am I leaving my Yorkie in the car in the parking lot, so I take her in. I explained my situation to the guy at the front and he let me in no problem. While I'm checking out, an employee in a scooter spends 5 minutes scolding me as I apologize profusely and explain my situation. I can't leave her unattended there. She keeps going and finally I tell her to leave me the heck alone. On the car ride home my Tashi pukes all over my lap. I get home and have to jam a thermometer up her bum (not before having to wake my sleeping room mate to ask for lube). After which, I have to force feed her Benadryl. She's asleep at the moment.. but I feel like she's looking at me as though I am the embodiment of evil. I just feel terrible for her I'm really questioning my decision to get her bordatella vaccine. | Ahhh, poor Tashi! Hope she's feeling better now (and you!). If I'm not mistaken the bordetella is what they squirted up her nose, do you know what the shot was?
