| Appointment is for 3:30 hate having to do this My old dog Georgie 14 yrs was seen by the vet on Friday and after the tests showed nothing can be treated we have no other option but to bring her in to be put to sleep. I cant believe in less than an hour I will be holding her as she takes her last breath. I know that it's cruel to let her continue to worsen and see her suffer but that's very hollow comfort. Even if her behavior has been hard to take (constant urination and defication all over the house including my daughters bed) that doesnt make it easy to say good-bye. Our vet said "do you want to have your last memories of her be that of her in great pain and suffering? Or would you rather make the choice before it gets to that point?" We know that in little time she will be at the point of great suffering and I dont want to wait till that happens. This is just awful tho. She is such a good dog and its so incredibly hard to let her go. This is the part of loving a dog that is the hardest.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I'm so sorry, I know this is so painful of you. I have a problem with those who can't let go, and don't seem to care how much pain the dog is suffering. I think you are wise to do it now when you can be pretty sure he'll not get better. I was watching a TV Reality show when Mackenzie Phillips took her dog in to be put to sleep. They offered him an ice cream cone right before the shot, and it seemed like such a nice thing to do, he was very happy his last few minutes on earth. We all know how you feel, and I'll pray for strength for you.

| Rest in peace, Georgie...your mama was loving and brave, and compassionate to no end, to do such a selfless thing as to let you go in peace even though her heart was breaking. It is a sad, but beautiful thing what she did for you. Prayers to you and your family.

| You have given Georgie the most difficult gift to give a beloved pet: peace and freedom from suffering. I am very sorry for your loss and pray that happy memories of her will bring you comfort in time. RIP sweet Georgie.

| My heart breaks for you. I certainly do know how you feel and I know how very much it hurts. It's something that only you know when it's time. No one else can really know as well as you do. I'm so sorry you have to go through this, but you're right when you say it is the awful part of loving a doggie.

| I am glad that I was there at the end. I held her and she was looking into my eyes as she passed. I know that she felt safe and loved. She deserved to not be in pain and to have her passing be a peaceful one surrounded by loving arms. Its so hard to have been there too. I still keep looking at the place she spent most of her time these past few months and its so hard to grasp that she wont be here when I get up. Thank you so much for all the kindness you have extended to me. Georgie was my first dog and this was my first experience with losing one. I always imagined that it would be hard I just didnt realize how hard.
