Senior Yorkie Talker | Bleeding after spaying I need someone to put my mind at ease or inform me please. My girl has had to healthy litters. She is 2 1/2 years old. Her last litter was not planned...I decided to not put her through the stress of a second litter and I had my male neutered because she came into heat early. However, he was still fertile after his operation and my boyfriend promised to watch her while I went to have a shower and I got out to find them tied. Needless to say she fell pregnant and had 3 beautiful puppies. She suffered Eclampsia though and I ended up hand rearing the puppies. Her heats seemed to get closer and closer every time so after the last puppy went to her new home I decided to have her spayed asap to avoid any undue stress on her. She was spayed a week ago and started to bleed from her vagina last night. I wasnt entirely sure it was f rom her though because in the morning there was blood on the bed but she didnt seem to be bleeding and is not swollen at all. My mom just called to say she is now bleeding very heavily and I should call the vet. He has told me to rush in as soon as possible. Im in a blind panic Has this happened to anyone else? And if so what was the reason?

| I haven't had that happen with my girls. If she's bleeding as heavily as your mom says, you need to get her in to the vet now. Please let us know what the doctor says and how she's doing. Sending prayers your little girl is all well soon. Bonny

| I cannot imagine that a vet would make someone wait for an appointment for a pup that is bleeding. Sounds like an emergency to me....not something to make an appt for!

| I agree LadyJane !! That is nuts to me. I don't think I would even call I would just show up at the vets office. One time Gilmore was breathing kind of weird. I wasn't going to take any chances so I just went asap to the vet and told them I was freaked out thinking what if he stopped breathing. They took me right away. No way was I going to wait and first call the office. Last edited by deeda9999; 02-29-2012 at 06:37 AM. |

| It is our responsibility to advocate and take care of our helpless pets...treat this helpless pup as your baby, do the right thing and go to the vet now, shes depending on you to make it better...

| According to the time of the OP's post, my guess is that her vet was not open yet & is the reason for the waite. I hope the pup is OK & at the vet now. Praying for a good update soon. |

| OMG! I am so glad my vet does not make appt's for visits only for surgery. Triage and then 1st come 1st served. AND we have a ER vet within 15 minutes of home. I would be a wreck with a little gal bleeding heavily and not able to see a vet ASAP!!
