| So Pitiful! Lilly had her spay today and she just looks so pitiful. She also had her rear dewclaws removed and her feet are wrapped in bandages. I feel so bad for her but I do know she needed to be spayed and the dew claws were just about just hanging there by a thread. I am giving her pain meds, hand feeding her and making sure she is warm. She has already had a small poop that was kinda hard but overall she is doing well. Is there anything else I should be doing for her? I cannot wait to have my energetic girl back! |

| Ahhh... my little guy got fixed today as well. I opted not to have the dew claws removed but they are pretty "fixed" and never caused any issues. I bet she will be back to normal in the next few days! At least we have a long weekend to care for our babies and make sure they were ok. Hugs and kisses from Brutus and I. xxoo

| I'll bet the dewclaws hurt more than the spay, well maybe not, I don't know, poor little thing. I didn't know there were rear dewclaws.

| Yes, they do sometimes have them. I don't think they are as difficult to remove as the front ones because they are not attached to bone.

| By sometimes do you mean some are born with them and some are not? Learn something new everyday on YT!

| Mikki had hers. I also had them removed during her spay. And yes, I think they bothered her way more than the spay did. It took a few days for her to really bounce back from the dew claws. You did the right thing having them removed. And now it is over with and she will be back to normal in a few days. Just give her extra hugs and love momma. She will be feeling just fine soon!

| Thank you For all the kind words. You are all helping me get through this. I will keep a good eye on her. The vet did give me antibiotics for the dewclaws so that should help. Hopefully she will feel better soon! |

| Update Lily is feeling better and more like her old self. Not eating much though. It is day three and she does not seem to be in pain but figure I will give her pain meds for at least five days. Hate the cone on her poor head! :; Thanks for the get well wishes. |
