| Vomiting for nearly 3 weeks...? My 9 month old Yorkie, Maddy, has been vomiting a lot for the past 3 weeks. We've always been told that occasional vomiting isn't much to worry about, but it wasn't until today that we realized how often she does it. Like, when I took her out of her cage this morning, I saw that all of her bedding was COVERED in vomit & it smelled horribly - I know that the vomit wasn't there when I put her to bed last night, meaning she vomited all of that in one night. We're not sure what could be causing her to be sick... She currently isn't on any meds, but she does TRY to eat everything. (bugs, frogs, poop, dirt, grass) So really, anything could have her sick. Also, we had our house fumigated a few weeks ago so that could have something to do with it. Does anyone else have any ideas or advice? Oh, & we will be taking her to the vet very soon...

| She needs to be seen by a vet ASAP. I would have been at the ER with one of mine. There is no way to know what is causing this without being seen by a vet. Please watch her closely for dehydration. Also, eating so much junk is not good for her either. Sounds like she needs to be on a leash when you go out so that you can make sure she is not eating whatever she puts in her mouth. That can be deadly to a small dog. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I would take her to the vet ASAP!!! My Taycie was sick last week (vomiting) and she had fluids. These little ones dehydrate so quickly.. I would be going now.

| I don't know how often you are feeding her....but my ZoE will vomit yellow bile during the night if she doesn't get a lil mini-meal (about 1/3 of what she gets at regular meal time) before going to bed. I took her to the vet after she did this for two nights. He said to give her the mini-meal before bed and to give her some gatorade in addition to her water for a couple of days....regular gatorade not sugar-free, and to take her back to see him if there wasn't any improvement. It solved the puking immediately, so now she gets fed breakfast at 6:30am, a snack in the afternoon (usually carrots, peas, etc), dinner at 6:30pm and a mini-meal at 11:30pm.

| When you take her to the vet, please request they do x-rays. If nothing, it will give you peace of mind knowing she doesn't have an obstruction, and secondly will tell you how her entire digestive system is doing. Please keep us posted - Good Luck!

| Please take your little on to the vet if you have not already. If mine do it for now reason, I call the vet to find out what to do, if they do it twice, they are at the vets. Please let us know how she is doing.

| My advice is to take her to the vet asap for finding out the cause. If throwing up is combined with diarrhea, stop feeding her and give her digestion system a rest for at least 24 hours. Don't give her too much water as the water irritates the digestion system as well. Try to give her a little bit of water (you can make a very light chicken bouillon solution or chamomile solution). If she doesn't throw up for 6 hours, then slowly increase the amount of liquids, be patient. After 24 hours of fasting, you could try some boiled rice, no oil, just boiled in the water. Your dog may throw up some of it, but if some stays in its body that will be a progress. Be patient, take it very slowly. One way or the other, you need to take her to the vet, because if she may be poisoned by eating something around the house and her little body may be needing professional help. Remember, she is entirely depending on you-you are the only one who can get help for your buddy and if you don't do it, nobody will. Good luck and let us know if you need anything else. |

| Oh, one more thing: Long time ago I bought my yorkie Kibbles And Bits dry food. He was picking thru it and vomit all the time. I thought he was too picky. Then I had a close look at the food and it turned out it was not food, those were hairballs !!! The processing was so bad, there was hair sticking out everywhere from this food. I will never buy this food again. Check the food, maybe you run into a similar problem. |
