| Max Got Stung By a Bee! Max was running around outside and when we came inside he ran to his playpen. I found a bee on his leg and pulled it off! We then pulled out the stinger. He seems ok but he's panting a little bit. I gave him benadryl and iced the area. I emailed my vet and called emergency and they said look for hives, swelling of the eyes, muzzle or difficulty breathing. I'm not seeing any of that. He's lifting his leg and lickin it. He's very still and seems like he's hurting. I'm applying ice.

| Aww poor Max! It sounds like you are doing everything you should be. Darned bugs are bad this year, especially horse flies! I'm sure he is still in pain. Hopefully the ice will help relieve the burning (and time.) Keep us posted on how he's doing.

| I made a home remedy of baking soda and water to neutralize the area. He's just laying and his leg is shaking. He won't even chew a bully stick. I think he'll be ok but he's so upset. I've never dealt with a sting before.

| Thanks everyone. He just stood up but his leg is still shaking. I think he's coming around. He started chewing a bully stick The ER is 40 minutes away so I would have gone immediately if i had to. Cooper is getting his shots tomorrow so it looks like this will be a fun Friday

| I'm so glad Max is coming around. Poor little baby! Bee stings hurt! We have a lot of them around our pool this year, along with BATS at night!!! Yes, BATS! I guess all living things are looking for water in this drought!

| I hope Max starts to feel better soon. Princess stepped on a bee last summer & cried for an hour. After that she was just fine so hopefully the worst of it will be over soon. Sending hugs.

| Poor Max! My dads dog Lilly got stung last year and she, about 30 minutes later, began swelling up. She could not breathe so we had to rush her to the ER and they fixed her up but it was soooo scary! Sounds like Max will be alright. Poor guy.

| It doesn't seem like he had any reaction to the sting. He's really lethargic and I'm assuming that's from the Benadryl. He's not very bothered by his leg anymore. I think he'll be fine. He's really tough when it comes to medical stuff.
