| Urgent Hey all. I need some help. Jenna my 4 yr old is sick. It started with her crouching everywhere as if she wants to pee. She is doin this every few minutes. She had no energy. Wasnt barkin as usual. So the vet too xray and blood test both negative. Put her on iv fluid and two antibiotics. Her appetite is back and energy too. However the urge to pee is still there. When she needs to go she will but when she keeps trying nothing comes out. So im takin her in again to get a urine sample. Im freaking out cuz i am used to stomach issues but nothing like this |

| I've got to agree w Hot Rod's mom, did they check for UTI? Also, kidney/bladder stones give urge to urinate but nothing comes out - it's the body trying to pass the stone. Was she checked for stones?

| I would definitely suggest a urinalysis. The xray should have ruled out stones. Did the labs show anything??

| I wonder why a urinalysis wasn't done right away? If that is clear, an ultrasound is indicated to rule out stones that can't be seen on xray.

| I had a miniature schnauzer once who was doing the exact same thing, but she ended up having bladder stones. The vet knew this right away, I'm surprised they did not test for this? Good Luck! |

| Apparently they did...they did an xray. I do wonder though why a urine was not collected.

| Thanks for the update. Glad that they were able to diagnosis your little girl. I am not an expert but I think there are 2 types of crystals. I don't know remember what the diffrences are. I know Hot Rod had some crystals one time. He was able to be treat with antibiotics. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be able to help. Hope your little one starts to feel better.
