| Sick yorkie My yorkie, Lily, is always up, playing and chasing the cats. Yesterday she was listless, wouldn't eat in the afternoon and had diarrhea. She ate in the morning and something happened, possibly eating something she shouldn't. This happened all of a sudden. Today she vomited all food but no more diarrhea. She still is listless. I had a similar experience with another dog that ate something he definitely shouldn't have and it took a couple days for him to get over it. No more vomiting either but she will only drink water. I tried a small bit of rice but to no avail. Her stomach also feels bloated to me. If anyone can give me suggestions as to what this may be (dog flu?, ingesting something) please let me know. If she doesn't feel better by tomorrow, she goes to the vet. Thank you. |

| Sorry your baby is sick. Do you have reason to believe that your girl may have ingested something she should not have? Does she have access to things she should not eat? Depending on what it was, the sooner she sees a vet, the better. Did she have a firm stool today? The listlessness combined with the loose stool, vomiting, bloated stomach would have me very concerned. I would probably take her to the emergency vet today.

| She doesn't want to eat which causes enough concern. With vomiting too, she needs to be seen. I would not wait. Time for the ER.

| hoping that your lily is going to be okay. they can become dehydrated very quickly and have low blood sugar when they are vomitting and having diahrrea. it could be pancreatitis which is a true emergency. please get her seen as soon as possible!!!!! if her blood sugar is low, you should give her some nutrical or kayro syrup.... and get to the er!

| Couldn't agree more with the above posts. You baby needs to be seen by a vet before something escalates.

| HI, My thoughts and prayer are with you and your Lily! I would agree with the other posts as well, please take her in. My Lucy was vomiting and wouldn't eat and i took her to the ER vet last weekend and I am grateful I did. They can at least give her a shot to make her stop vomiting and help her to feel better hopefully. I would take her in ASAP! Please update us with how she is doing!

| I took her into the emergency vet this evening and they are keeping her overnight and giving her IV fluids. Vet said she was very dehydrated. I just spoke to them and they said she is much brighter. The only diagnostic test I asked for so far was a fecal exam and that was fine. I will call in the AM to see how she's doing and when I can get her. She did not have a fever and her stomach wasn't bloated. I can always ask for more testing. She plays with a lot of toys and I'm wondering if she ingested stuffing that she pulls out. Thank you for your help. |

| I am very happy you took her to ER and that she is getting IV fluids. Sending positive thoughts that the doctors will determine the problem quickly and get your little girl on the road to recovery. Get rid of the stuffed toys or only bring them out when you can supervise. My boys can't have anything with fuzzy material because they try to eat the fibers, so I sew toys for them out of non-fuzzy material.

| I called this AM and she was better. They gave her food at 2pm and I called again at 4pm. I could hear her barking in the background so she sounded like herself. They were going to feed her again at 6pm and make sure she doesn't vomit. I have to call 8-9pm tonight and check if things stayed down. She was still getting IV and other medications. If she doesn't have diarrhea and keeps things down I really need to take her home tonight. My daughter will be home tomorrow when I'm at work to watch her but she doesn't have a car to pick her up and I really can't afford another night. |

| Sounds like she's doing well....any idea what happened ??....our Frisco was running a high fever, and we ended up at some high end vet hospital....they wanted to do $6500 in tests......ended up just going with fluids and Antibiotics for 3 days....still cost $4000, and never knew the cause...he's been fine ever since. |
